Taras Richmond Farmstay offers two self catering modern, eco-friendly accommodation apartments. We are located on a small working farm where you can rest comfortably in our clean and warm accommodation, or use us as a base to visit the many nearby attractions, including famous Coal Valley wineries, Zoo Doo, local produce markets, and of course Richmond itself with its history, museums, galleries, cafe's and river-bank walks.

• Our highly-praised continental breakfast is included as part of the tariff, and includes a basket with a selection of cereals, freshly baked bread, Taras prize-winning home-made jams, plunger coffee and fresh local fruit in season.

• We are located just 20 minutes to Hobart Airport, 25 minutes from Hobart city, or 3 minutes north of historic Richmond in the beautiful and bountiful Coal Valley.

• Kids and adults alike will love exploring the farm yard and viewing the farm animals including chickens, ducks, geese, a pony, and flock of sheep (including lambs in spring). Wallabies and possums can also often be seen on the property after dark, and if you are really lucky, a platypus may also be seen in our section of the Coal River, or a Wedge-tailed eagle.

• Enjoy our fresh organically grown raspberries, strawberries and stonefruits (in season), or you are welcome to pick and eat fresh vegetables from our garden as they are available

• Relax in the beauty of our environment and enjoy the views over the paddocks to Mount Wellington and surrounding countryside

• Wheel-chair friendly (Sugarloaf apartment only) with ample parking, level access throughout, wide walkways and spacious bathroom facilities

• Loads of safe parking on a sealed, level driveway - bring your RV!

We are centrally located for easy day trips to south-east Tasmania, including Hobart, Port Arthur, East coast the Derwent Valley and beyond.
